Setting Up
It was a drizzly day in Nebraska. The kind of drizzle that comes with a certain amount of cold that seems to blow right through you.
We had been driving around the fields of the Twin Platte performing technical analysis of our product’s modem performance. Drive to a location, put our system up, take measurements, jump back in the truck and warm up as we drive to the next location. Not exactly my definition of a good time, but sometimes things just need to get done.
Choosing to Manifest
On the last day of our trip, we had a handful more sites to evaluate. Sitting in the hotel around breakfast, the team was lamenting about the weather forecast and how it was supposed to see rain all day. Gray, rain, and cold. As my teammate for the day (who we’ll call Jake, because that is his name – thanks Jake!) walked to our truck to start the day, I remembered that I’m not a victim of life, but a creator. So noticing my feelings about the gloomy weather predictions, I flipped them and said out loud “No! We will have a great day, the rain will be very light, we’ll get done with our scheduled stops quickly and be able to have a nice lunch before we head back to Denver”. And Jake, after hearing this added “Yeah, and we need a rainbow!”. OK, I thought. Let’s see what we can do. I cleared my mind, focused on how it would feel to have an easy morning with light rain, and the amazement and awe that we would both feel once we saw an amazing rainbow. Then I let it go.
Mistake or Manifesting?
As we proceeded to our first destination, rain ponchos close at hand, the rain was just barely coming down. We somehow quickly ripped through the list of GPS coordinates and had great connectivity results. On the last stop we had scheduled for the day, I noticed the rain ponchos in the back – untouched. “Hey Jake”, I said, “How was the rain so far?”. “Not bad”, he said. Not bad at all. Now, I thought, we just need a rainbow.
We had a good lunch and began the trek back to DIA to get Jake on his flight. As we drove we chatted and since we were so far ahead of schedule, Jake began making schedule changes to grab an earlier flight back. As Jake completed his schedule changes, his map indicated we should take an immediate left turn. “Where are we?” we wondered. In all of the commotion, we somehow missed the turn off to get to the airport. We were almost in Wyoming!
We heeded the map’s instructions and turned south and ended up going through the Pawnee National Grasslands. It was quite beautiful. I could only imagine the roaming buffalo that used to flourish here.
Appreciating the Magic
To this point, the whole trip had been overcast with some rain. As we drove through the pristine prairies, we started seeing small breaks in the clouds. The columns of sun shining on the grasslands were breathtaking. We turned a corner and the clouds began to part and the rain stopped. “This is it!”, I thought. I looked in the rear view mirror and there it was! A rainbow. Not just any rainbow, but a vibrant spectacle set against dark rain clouds, seeming to begin on the very road we were driving.
We pulled over and jumped out. Jake and I were amazed and in awe of the beautiful site before us. We snapped some pictures (one of which is the image for this blog) and spent a moment appreciating nature and the power we all have to create.
As we got back on the road, the clouds thickened and drove the rest of the way in rain and Colorado snow, all the way talking about what had just happened and how we CAN create our reality. We just need to remember that the ‘what’ is in our control. We can dream up the scenario. And the ‘how’ we leave up to the universe. There is no way we could have planned our trip to get lost in the Pawnee National Grasslands to be able to catch a fleeting rainbow in the midst of the winter storm.
Jake and I still reference this trip anytime we begin thinking something may not go how we want. We just say “We only need to manifest a rainbow”.
Life is a rainbow, just waiting for you to create it.

Thank you for your comment. We believe that the creative process is something that we all possess, but sometimes it can be tough to get started and begin making good habits. This is one reason we created the Sparkle Revolution app. The app provides 3 unique activities to help us remember to be mindful and to help us get better at always being grateful, always being positive, always being aware, since we are always manifesting our reality. You can try the app here free for 7 days. After that we ask for a small amount to allow us to continue to grow the features and content of the app.
In the meantime, you can look around you and find things that you are grateful for. Maybe a person, a flower, the air we breathe… there are many options and feeling grateful is a good way to raise your frequency.
